Number 10

'No. 10' was actually led from the bass line which infrected my brainspace for a few days, so I eventually gave up and recorded the song. Drums were pretty simple to program along with said bass, clav-style arpegiatted synth bits to give it a funky driving rhythm were needed, and the chorus became a moment where lack of guitar ability up until now had forced me to make my Korg X50 synthesizer sound like a guitar, I could probably just play it on the real thing; and apparently I could, which felt like a nice achievement. The lyrics come from the fact that I don't believe we live in a free world, I think it's all just a business plan laid out by land-owners, and we're less than pawns in a game of nuclear chess played out by rich people with no sense of humanity.

lyrics

Lyrics:

People come and people go but everywhere we’re running all alone.
With bigger people over your shoulder
Trying to dry you out of house and home.
It’s all about the money, people don’t see soul,
But some people see people foe persons in their own:
Like the man with the wife and the life they made
Doesn’t matter next to how much money they make.

You get a job to retire with pride
And maybe get easy entry on the other side,
But the only thing easy is the doubt in your mind.
But you know inside that you could have done more to help the helpless.
You could have made a wrong thing right.
You could have tried to spend more time with your son
Instead of working all that overtime.

We put our faith in those that don’t understand,
And how I know this is I’m the same as you.
Why would a man take the life of another man
When he doesn’t know a thing about him?
And why does a man with a gun have to be a bigger man
Than the man without one?

Calling Number 10!
Calling on The Whitehouse!
Calling on Bin Laden!
We’re all gonna find out!

People come and people go but everywhere people walk scared.
Everybody fights for their rights but the problem didn’t start there.
It starts with the Government playing games:
Who’s got the power to devour us all?
Whoever’s got the biggest set of balls in the class,
But they’re all small!
Fuck ‘em all!
Time to fight back!

We put our faith in those that don’t understand,
And how I know this is I’m the same as you.
Why would a man take the life of another man when he doesn’t know a thing about him?
And why does a man with a gun have to be a bigger man than the man without one?

Calling Number 10!
Calling on The Whitehouse!
Calling on Bin Laden!
We’re all gonna find out!

Calling number 10!

The honour of creating a soundtrack to moment or memory is one I hope to achieve with you somewhere here in these 13 albums. I've enjoyed living all of them. I hope you will as well. Much love.
