What are 'BeSides' I hear you cry? It's ok, don't cry, I'll tell you...
'BeSides' refers to B-sides, when single song releases were on side A of a cassette/CD and the bonus song was on side B. In this case, they're also created at the same time as - or beside...geddit? - the 'main events'. I know, it's all very clever. You're welcome. Please, don't thank me, just pay me...

Anyway, these are the solo songs that didn't make it into albums. Some of them were very personal and hidden from public ear-holes, written purely as quick exorcisms of thought much like some people use a personal diary, others being worked on during a project that they weren't part of, and some I just thought were a bit crap because they didn't sound like whatever was popular at the time. Now I couldn't care less about any of those factors, and here's me, then. And now. Whatever.

Most of them I just forgotten I'd done, and found 3 album's worth of extra material when I was creating the lists for the back-catalogue video release. This particular collection is the most eclectic I think, with reworkings of some 'Here I Am' songs (the first album in the discography) which I'd been itching to do since recording that acoustic album, and some of the stonking-est rock choons I'd recorded on guitar; purely 'cos I was chuffed I could play them. The funky stuff's fun, only that at the time I didn't think anyone would like it, whereas ironically 'I Told You So' was leaked onto Soundcloud from Youtube recently (2015) and people really liked it! Weird...

So, here ya go, enjoy the extra features of moments after mixing 'Born Again' was giving me a headache, and 'T.E.E.J.' (which was a secret in itself) was boggling the mind-tank with experimentation.
I suppose, looking at it now, I was recording 3 albums over 2 years, but you don't think like that; you just do it to keep breathing.

Much love, have fun.

The honour of creating a soundtrack to moment or memory is one I hope to achieve with you somewhere here in these 13 albums. I've enjoyed living all of them. I hope you will as well. Much love.
