'Giving' was a return to my roots, after playing with samples and sounds and programming and editing it was lovely to just write a simple piano ballad and then arrange it accordingly. No 6 year gap between writing the acoustic and realizing the song as a full instrumentation this time, just write it and record it all straight away. It felt like a nice achievement.

lyrics

Lyrics:

Why don’t they all see me and everything I can do?
All that I need is a window to give me a chance to prove
That I am what I am and I do what I can
Though I’m fully aware of what I can’t do.
So I don’t even try, I just lay down and die
But that isn’t the kind of life I want to be living
The kind of life where no one is giving.

Why don’t they all see why some people can never leave
All that I need is a door to the scene where the system gives me a name
But for now I’m a number and a personal lumber
Cos I haven’t got a job or a fast car
Oh, I held on to my dreams so I don’t have those you see
But that isn’t the kind of life I want to be living
It’s the irony of giving up being me.

Oh, why do I feel that I have to please all the people around me?
We’re not in school any more
So why are we still mocked for being different
Colours and faces,
Religions and races,
People and places…?
PLEASE!
For fuck’s sake listen to what you’re missing!

Put me up on that stage so can bring a day of change!
I completely believe, and I don’t know why,
That I can stop wars with these words of mine.
But it starts with myself and my family’s wealth,
Then with those that made sure that I kept my health,
Then when they’re all ok I can start on this day of change;

And that’s the life I wanna be living.
The kind of life where I’m always giving.

The honour of creating a soundtrack to moment or memory is one I hope to achieve with you somewhere here in these 13 albums. I've enjoyed living all of them. I hope you will as well. Much love.
